The hike starts from Ponte Conseria, in the heart of Val Campelle, one of the most beautiful gateways to the Lagorai range. After passing Rifugio Crucolo and Rifugio Carlettini, we leave the car at the parking area and begin walking, following the signs for Malga Conseria.
The trail cuts across the first bends of the road and climbs through meadows and woodland, with a steeper section softened by the purple flowers of erba di Sant’Antonio. After a cattle enclosure, crossed by passing between two horizontal logs, the route continues through pastures, over a small bridge and across the final meadows leading to Rifugio Conseria.
After a short break, we set off again towards Passo Cinque Croci, alternating between dirt road, meadows and open pastures. The pass, marked by a pole topped with five crosses, is a simple but very distinctive place. From here we leave the trail to Forcella Magna and Cima d’Asta on the left and climb steadily towards Cima Socede.
The summit immediately reveals the wilder, more solemn character of the Lagorai: trenches, military remains and traces of the First World War still tell their story among grass and rocks. From the top, the view opens wide towards the Marmolada, Piz Boè, Sassopiatto, the Larsec and the northern Lagorai chain, all the way to Cima di Cece.
We descend along the ridge among rhododendrons and rocks, then follow trail 326 towards Passo dei Lasteati. From here we take the path descending to the Lasteati lakes, passing the first small stretch of water and continuing towards the second, larger lake.
Shortly before the main lake, we take the trail dropping to the right and enter a beautiful larch wood with rhododendron undergrowth. As we round the slopes of Cima Socede, we first meet a slow worm hiding among the roots, then a black viper basking in the sun on the trail before quickly disappearing among the rocks.
At the junction with trail L35 towards Buse Todesche, we continue until we rejoin the morning route. From here we return once more via Rifugio Conseria and finally reach the parking area at Ponte Conseria.
